Mission Overview

Goals of The Trip: To serve the Ashaninka tribal people with medical and dental care for possibility the first time, but ultimately share the love and hope of Jesus Christ. This trip we hope to learn more about the area and people so we can effectively plan other trips for more years to come. We are looking to build a bond with these people, and be able to see their growth in a relationship with God.
Type of Dentistry Performed: Extractions, Restorative
Church Host Information: Dawn of Hope, located in Peru (with variety of medical and dental professionals).
Brief Description of the area: We will be running the clinic on a base in a remote area in the Amazon, 30 mins away (by boat) from the tribe. The base will have running water and electricity for us to be able to use portable dental chairs for clinic.

Mission Overview

Goals of The Trip: We have a dental and medical clinic so the goals would be to help the children and families of our sister parish with dentistry and medical needs. We have a doctor for the medical clinic already. We will also have other NJ parishioners travel to visit with the local children and do some construction work there. The dentistry is mostly extractions, fillings, and cleanings. We can put you in touch with the dentist who usually travels with us but who cannot this year.

Church Host Information: The local church in Mexico is San Martin Caballero Church, Iztapalapa, Mexico. The church that is travelling to Mexico is St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit NJ.

Lodging: Stay at the church rectory. Sleep on a small bed or air matress.
