Inviting Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants, & Family Members to a three-day, hands-on, portable dental clinic experience in S. California, with Hands-on Clinics in Mexico! Times are flexible and can be arranged to maximize participation.
Taught by Dr. Gayle Cheatwood, CDS Advisory Council Member, who has led 150 dental missions.
Proposed Schedule of Events
Thursday: Travel day. Meet for the evening meal in Holtville, California (San Diego is two hours away).
Friday: Training begins at 9:00 a.m. at Dr. Gayle Cheatwood’s office, 538 Holt Avenue, Holtville, California. The morning session will include orientation and training on how to conduct portable, dental, Christian outreach missions using portable dental equipment, how to organize instruments and supplies, portable sterilization techniques, and ministry ideas. In the afternoon, the team will travel to Mexicali, Mexico (about an hour) where we will set up a portable clinic in a local church and spend the night in Mexico.
Saturday: Treat surgical, restorative, and hygiene patients. Pack-up and spend the night in Mexico.
Sunday: Attend a local, Mexican church service. In the afternoon, set up the portable clinic at a new location, treat patients, and then return to the U.S. to spend the night near Holtville, Ca.
Monday, Dec 14: Travel day to return home.
Excellent food, lodging, transportation, and supplies will be provided at a nominal cost for the week. The cost will be adjusted for families who are encouraged to contribute and learn. Participants are responsible for costs and arrangement of transportation to Holtville, Ca. This is a tax-deductible trip.
