The WSRM Dental Clinic was started in May 2003 by the Water Street Rescue Mission; a faith based non-profit organization who has been meeting the needs of the poor since 1905.
Presently we have a 2-operatory clinic that is staffed by over 35 volunteer dentists, hygienists, assistants and lab technicians. Since January 2006 we have had over 830 patient visits, at a value of over $213,000.00. Construction is nearly complete on our newly expanded clinic which will have 4 operatories, lab, darkroom and sterilization center. Our grand opening is planned for January 2007. As a free dental clinic seving the homeless uninsured we operate solely through volunteers and donations from the dental community and other business entities. WSRM Dental Clinic has 3 specific needs at this time:
We are greatly in need of dentists, hygienists, assistants, lab technicians, receptionists and sterilization technicians to volunteer for 304 hours a month to staff our new clinic beginning in January.
Providing dental supplies on a regular basis or as a one time donation.
In addition to our volunteer and supply needs, we are also looking for funding to help cover the expense of day to day operations.
